Pengukur kedalaman mekanis dirancang untuk memenuhi ASTM D 4417-B, SANS 5772, Angkatan Laut AS NSI 009-32, Angkatan Laut AS PPI 63101-000 untuk (tergantung konfigurasi): mengukur ketinggian puncak-ke-lembah dari permukaan yang dibersihkan dengan ledakan;mengukur kedalaman korosi fokus;mengukur kedalaman lubang dan alur yang sempit.
